What Is A Conservatorship?

A conservatorship occurs when the court appoints an individual to manage the financial affairs of someone who is deemed incapable of handling these things themselves. Being named conservator comes with many responsibilities. You will have to take inventory of the conservatee’s estate, pay off their debts, and oversee their medical care and living arrangements. These duties last until the person you are protecting passes away or becomes able to take care of themselves again.
